‘Formiga’ (faw-mee-gah) is the Portuguese word for ‘Ant’.
In 2017 the Directors identified the need to change our brand to represent our long-term vision and goals; and to include an International element for the business.
To achieve this, we engaged with all our team members to provide suggestions for a new name, and imagery that would represent us, our culture and our future direction. Over a period of approximately 6 months the team actively suggested, discussed and voted on the name and our new look.
The choice of Formiga resonated with the team members and our services. Ants are strong individuals, but always work together as a team to complete a job and achieve the common goal. They also build strong support and foundations, and have the ability to carry heavy weights/burdens. They are known for their ability to communicate and share knowledge. Our team strive to ensure that these qualities are implemented through all our actions, services and into our commitment to our clients and their goals.
The number '1' is symbolic in many ways. It emphasises that we endeavour to be the best in our field. It further shows that we continually strive to provide the highest level of a positive attitude, initiative to problem solving, and tenacity in detailing with all our tasks and activities.
We believe that 'Formiga1' symbolises everything that we aim to provide in business, for our team and to our clients.
